We are using Stephanie Mason at OpenArch for a complex extension in a Grade II listed property in Greenwich with reduced access. I initially instructed Stephanie to prepare the application/plans for planning and listed building consent (with the ambitious desire to project manage the work myself) but subsequently re-engaged the OpenArch team to work closely with my structural engineers and other contractors. Best decision! The planning phase was quicker than I was expecting and the application sailed through. The designs produced by OpenArch are sympathetic to the existing building yet provide a complementary modern aspect. Stephanie is very user friendly, efficient and prompt at responding to emails. She has taken control to move my project along which has suffered from delays due to difficult site conditions. Highly recommend.

Working with Open on our project was a pleasure from start to finish. Their ideas for our extension were totally different to the other architects we consulted and they really took into account the way we live as a family and what our needs are now. I can’t imagine a design that would suit us any more than the beautiful extension we now have. Throughout the build they were always on hand for questions, opinions and emergencies. Stephanie and Joseph went out of their way to assist with last minute design changes and took time to sketch out alternatives and explain the reasons why certain designs would work more than others. They offered opinions on aesthetic dilemmas and came to site not just for scheduled site visits but also when we needed urgent advice on the inevitable issues that arise during a build. We are so happy with our newly designed house and it has turned our house into a forever home which we all absolutely love.
