They're definitely Jerkin'... don't get chicken strips and chips, it was a tiny portion and nothing special for 13 quid... feel like a mug... some of the chips were overdone too. Not good and not happy

I've been visiting Only Jerkin with my friends for years now, ever since we started going to the original Digbeth Dining Club. The food queues were always massive at Digbeth, but we never minded waiting because the food was always on point. However, last Friday's experience (at Herbert’s Yard) was not up to par. The overall portion size was much smaller than usual, and the chicken pieces were mostly batter and not as juicy as we had come to expect. I do understand that they do both nuggets and strips, but saying that the nuggets shouldn’t have been that small. Despite this, we decided to give Only Jerkin another shot and visited their Herbert's Yard location last night. We ordered the Mixed Box, which combines both styles of fried chicken served with jerk fries, creamy coleslaw, and homemade dips and jerk gravy. The portion size was overall larger, with way more fries and the chicken pieces overall were bigger and juicier. It was almost like the portion last week was the last bits of chicken left before they added the next fresh batch. However, we did notice that the OJ gravy, which is usually a must-have and go-to for us, lacked a bit of its usual flavor and taste. Overall, the food was great, and we didn't have to wait too long for it, around 5 minutes or so. The majority of times we have been, the food has been consistently great. I would have given it a 4.5-star review (if possible) based on last week's experience, but last night's food was fantastic, so I'm sticking to a 5/5. We'll definitely be back and hoping for consistently great food in the future. (Note: The photos used in this review are from the vendor's social media account, not mine.)
