My daughter and I attended Baby nurture with Adele, then baby discovery and since done many of the mini mess specials. Baby nurture helped me bind with my daughter and learn so much about how her little body was developing. It also helped me build a great network of mum friends, who a year later we still meet up with. My little girl loved baby discovery, she was so interested in everything. Again I learnt so much about her development and how to encourage movement. And once again mini mess didn't fail to engage my daughter, who loves her food! I can't wait for the glow disco in a couple of months as I'm sure she'll love that too! Adele has always been so kind, warm and caring with such a passion for what she does. I have also had the pleasure of experiencing her school yoga, being a teacher. Once again she had all the children engaged and the conversations from my 6 and 7 year old after about how it chanted their feelings were simply beautiful ❤️

Adele is amazing at what she does and can’t recommend enough. We have used once upon a mat for private group lessons as well as both my children enjoying as part of their school curriculum. I cannot recommend Once Upon the Mat enough. Myself and my son attended baby nurture classes and baby discovery special classes and we both loved every minute. It's a fantastic opportunity for both child and mummy's to learn and socialise. Adele is an incredible teacher, she offers something for every parent - check out the dad specials ❤️. I can't wait to experience many more classes with Once Upon the Mat, roll on the Easter special.

My daughter had yoga lessons at school with once upon the mat and thoroughly enjoys the sessions. She comes home and shows me the poses that she has learnt in class. The children learn breathing techniques, how to manage their emotions, partner/group activities and mindfulness and relaxation- all important tools that children should be equipped with to support their mental health and well-being. I would recommend this company to any achoo or parent looking to support and nurture their child.

Paid for 6 weeks baby discovery and unfortunately not enjoying it at all. Nor is my baby. Teacher so loud I think my baby is slightly scared, very regimented. Middle of the class you get to “chat to other mums and play with props” but your given about 3 minutes in total then sent back to mat. At the end you have a lights down snuggle song which my baby does like and she is tired so that’s great it helps her get off to sleep but it lasts two minutes then the lights come back baby is awake again, the teacher is shouting saying bye and already picking up all the toys making you leave it’s so rushed! Not what I expected and not very good for meeting other mums as there isn’t time !

I was made to feel very welcome by Adele and the rest of the group. I first attended baby massage group and it was so good I decided to do it again followed by sensory. Adele is friendly and warm and very experienced in what she does. Covid restrictions were adhered to and the environment was safe and spacious. 100% highly recommended!!!!!

Adele is an amazing teacher. If you're looking for baby massage in Canterbury or baby and toddler groups in Canterbury Kent then I would highly reccommend Adele's groups. My little one has been to lots of her classes and absolutely loves them. Great for meeting people in the local area too.

I found Once Upon The Mat when I was looking for Baby Sensory classes near my hometown of Canterbury, Kent. The classes looked so much fun for both mum and baby and I was so excited when a place on the waiting list became available. After a short wait I got a place and it was everything I expected and more. The classes were so well thought out and you could tell that Adele had put her heart and soul into creating a space not just for babies but for mums and dads too. The classes were bright and colourful, engaging, joyful and I never wanted them to end. Each week has a different theme and we would be excited to see what the next week had in store for us. We then learned that Adele also ran baby yoga and baby massage classes and we were sold. Incredible classes for mothers, babies and children. Rare to find a business of such a high standard that puts people first. The effort and time that goes into preparing resources and designing bespoke programmes such as baby nurture classes and a much needed resilience programme for young people is one that all of us should be getting behind. Would recommend that mothers and schools should contact Adele to find more about how the classes could benefit you personally or your school or nursery.

Once Upon The Mat offers bespoke classes from the heart. Each baby, child and mother gains so much not only from each class but from the warmth and ethos of the company. As a Head of a Primary school, I would encourage schools not to pay lip-service to mental health and mindfulness through off-the-shelf activities but to book a bespoke class or holistic workshop with Adele and invest in developing the skills that are truly needed to become resilient, mindful and reflective students. Once upon the mat classes are wonderful and timely approach to helping children understand ‘mindfulness’. In an age of anxiety it seems entirely appropriate to be teaching yoga to children as frequently as Art, Maths or History – in many ways it seems more important. The facilitator: Adele Quittenden is kind, vibrant, original and skilful. These classes are wonderfully creative and innovative. The connection children develop with Adele speaks volumes with many rushing to sit with her at the end of class for the final part - truly moving.
