We are regular customers, but we usually go to the Sloane Square boutique, their service is so much better. We tried the soho branch this time. They are allowing 2-3 people inside, on a Saturday. Fair enough, you take time for your clients. But witnessing from the outside, how they sharing their life stories with clients is not an efficient time management. There is nothing wrong with taking time for clients. But you shouldn’t forget, that other regular customers are waiting outside as well. Also sending your third employee on a break, while the queue outside is getting longer, is not very strategic. A store manager should know when to send his/her employees on a break, ideally not when you are having a busier period. Also no initiative proposal to clean or check the current Oliver People’s glasses. If you know your client is already wearing a pair of OP’s, why not propose to clean them, check if they sit well? Nothing of that nature. This level of passiveness is simply far from being an excellent service approach.
