Wife not very well and decided not to cook so decided to get 2 medium cod & medium portion of chips from oh my cod in Upchurch. Was weary as soon I entered chip shop as there was nothing on the hot counter. Asked for 2 medium cod and medium portion chips which I assumed would be cooked fresh as there was nothing in the hot countertop. While I waited I was looking around the area of the chip shop and was not impressed with the cleanliness of the shop. To my opinion it is poor compared to other local fish and chip shops. Any way my order was wrapped wasn’t asked if I wanted salt and vinegar. Paid £17.00 and left to return home which is literally 3 minutes from the shop by car. Wife dished up the fish and chips to find the chips was like cardboard and so dry they must of been cooked the day before and reheated. The fish was warm and dry and the batter was soft. Very very poor standard not only the fish & chips, the service and the cleanliness of the shop. As we have lived in the village for 10 years I feel the standards of the local Chippie as gone as low as it could possibly be with the present owners. We will never use it again. Very very poor 👎🏻.

Stopped of to order a meal ...tried to ring and book a delivery but we couldn't seem to understand each other! ..so we abandoned that idea and walked to the shop ...I ordered butterfly prawns and a burger..husband cod n chips (no haddock)...time to wait 5/7 minutes...more like 15min +...All VERY GREASY ...Chips were tasteless and hard ..fish was more batter that fish ..burger was yuk ..soggy lettuce dry burger and bun seemed a bit stale .. so all in all NOT a very good experience and we won't be using them again when we're staying that way sadly .
