Firstly I must say the staff were rather pleasant and are receptive. However my main gripe and low rating begins at the end. When presented with the bill, which includes a 'discretionary' service charge I was asked if I would like to add a tip, additional to the service charge. Now I won't use this review to go into the arguments regarding this controversial line item. But this further question and reaction when I said no as it already included (at 12.5% charge) was rather rude and knocks the service rating significantly. Moving on, the food is quite nice, but there are some amazing Italian restaurants in Fitzrovia. Cin Cin, Da Paolos and Al Dente to name a few. Of particular note, The Rigatoni was on the bland side, lacking the kick promised on the menu with chilli. I think this ingredient was forgotten. Starters were pleasant, though erred on the salty side. Atmosphere was a mixed bag, acoustics, music, kitchen.
