We stayed at the byways boutique b&b in the quaint, quiet village of flaxby were you can relax in beautiful surroundings inside and outside & be spoilt at the same time.This is the 3rd time we have stayed and had 2 brilliant nights yet again everything 100%. A big huge thank you to Caroline & of course Charlie the (cockerpoo) for making our stay the best ever.

Could not ask for better hosts. Everything they could do for us was done without question or delay. Beautiful property, lovely garden and the comfort of the rooms we had was brilliant. Breakfast for all of us was also excellent and plentiful, with lop quality local produce used. The homemade jams and preserves were tasty and we got a bag of the first plums from the tree in the garden. They were delicious. We loved meeting Caroline and Darren and also Charlie to dog who made friends with us all straight away. Our dog Rufus loved playing in the garden.I have no doubt that we shall return and do what we didn't manage to do this time. Highly recommended.

Absolutely fabulous, wonderful friendly welcome from Caroline and Charlie (the dog ) Breakfast was one of the best we have had and plentiful. We stayed in the Egypt room which was spotlessly clean. you have a small fridge with fresh milk and filleted water, and if you need more just ask . Caroline could not do enough for us Warm and welcoming at all times. We only got to meet Darren on our second day again a very warm welcoming grating , we asked on food recordation's both spot on as well as where to park and go when we went into Knaresborough. We had our dog with us who enjoyed playing with Charlie and having the patio doors to the beautiful gardens was a bonus to us, we are all ready talking about our next trip here . The bed comfy , and loved the walk in shower, and a bonus lots of cooking apples for me to get busy making pies, chutney with. Would highly recommend. We feel like we have made 2 new friends. Thank you Caroline, Darren and Charlie for making our stay so enjoyable

Really enjoyed our stay in the Egypt Room at Byeways B&B. From start to finish it was all good and we were made to feel welcome from the outset. Room comfort and cleanliness was of the highest standard. Chilled filtered water provided daily in our room as well as fresh milk this along with quality biscuits and caramels pushed usual room tea and coffee making facilities up a notch or two. The breakfast had everything you could wish for and more besides with home made jams and food prepared and presented reflecting the quality and attention to detail that appeared to be the norm at Byways. Caroline and Darren were great hosts and their knowledge and recommendations helped us get the most out of our three day visit to Knaresborough. The garden and outlook were perfect for relaxing in before setting off to or when getting back from anywhere. Would not hesitate to stay at Byways again when visiting this part of the UK. The countryside location just three miles from the lovely town of Knaresborough suited us perfectly and indeed is a great location for many of the attractions in this part of the world. The Tiger Inn three quarters of a mile away do lovely meals and is reasonably priced. We also had a great meal at The Two Brothers in Knaresborough were Caroline and Darren have negotiated a discount for guests.

Wonderful accommodation with lots of thought and personal touches put into the decoration and amenities in our room, dining area and garden. Spotlessly clean throughout with a wonderful garden and views. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful with the most wonderful hosts in Caroline and Darren who were so attentive and friendly giving us recommendations on places to visit and restaurants and pubs to try. Very comfortable bed and huge bedroom and bathroom (we were on the first floor in the Africa room) which was wonderful. A wonderful stay with our two friends to celebrate my Husbands 60th Birthday, where we also made two new friends in Caroline and Darren, not forgetting Charlie the Cockapoo. We even came away with a baby money plant grown by Darren which was a lovely gesture. We are already looking forward to staying there again.

We stayed for a weekend to attend a family wedding close by. Our family had all 3 wonderful rooms booked out and Caroline went over and above to make sure we were very well looked after. The communication before arrival with lots of information enabled us to book meals and taxis with ease. The rooms were all spacious and spotless. I liked the details which had clearly been thought about a lot such as providing glass bottled water in the fridge - being aware about plastic waste, a torch for walking back from the local village and a dark coloured make up remover towel for example! The breakfast was great and Caroline kindly moved the times for us to suit when we had to be at the wedding venue. The garden and house looked amazing with all the flowers and the sunset looking out back was beautiful. I wish we could have spent more time there.
