Mum's funeral service was conducted at the graveside. If ever there was a beautiful funeral, mum's was it. Buried there in 2002 the only thing we could hear was skylarks and the quiet of the day. After we were done we all made out way to Manningtree station for the wake. We return to Wrabness often. Mum's tree is now a whopper and for sure her DNA is up there at the top. As time passes it's becoming a challenge to locate her resting spot which sort of adds to the visit!

My mother was buried in Oakfield Woods, so that my brother can say hello to her I will be taking his ashes to her grave and plaçe his ashes at her side may the good Lord God watch over them until it's my time to join them

It is a very pleasant place. My loved one's ashes were interred & we bought an adjacent plot for my husband & myself. A tree was planted in 2017 but it didn't take & died. Oakfield Wood agreed to replant during the dormant season which didn't happen. This issue has been ongoing but we were assured that a tree would be planted with the next batch when the gardener returned from his Christmas break 2019 this still doesn't appear to have been done as there was grass growing inside the protective sleeve which is still there & the ground hasn't been disturbed. What is also of concern we live near enough to check on this, what about relatives who are unable to visit, have left loved ones here, paid their money & have no tree, no one will tell them it hasn't taken or replace it. We know because we've walked around & seen them.

My husband DAVID BATEMAN died 4/10/1998 rests here. He chose it while he was ill and was one of the first buried here. He overlooks the Stour. It was a field of clay with trees a year old at the most. It was still the most beautiful place on earth and where he wanted his body to lie for ever even though his soul is with me, his sons and now his 8 grandchildren. We were treated with such respect even though he died in Hackney. I will lie there one-day as well.
