  My mother died in March 2023 and we needed a funeral director at short notice. We found O'Dwyer on the internet and all I can say is that I cannot imagine a better service. Our contact, Anthea Barrett, was just perfect. The right balance of sympathy without being in any way obsequious and fully on top of all the practical details. Funerals are stressful things to organise, with lots of decisions to make at short notice when you are feeling very emotional. Anthea guided us through all the arrangements, was transparent about the costs and liaised with multiple people seamlessly. The other staff we met were lovely as well. It's a personal think but I really didn't want someone morose and gloomy. I wanted someone with a smile and and a friendly attitude. Someone who I could trust to sort all the details out. The day itself went very smoothly and was memorable for all the right reasons. Thank you Anthea.

  O’Dwyers are absolute gems. When our little ma died sooner than expected in a nursing home so we hadn’t nominated a funeral director she was taken away over the weekend and we found it impossible to find her. All very distressing. I called O’Dwyers and was totally reassured she would be found and very quickly I had a call from Anthea to say they had her safely with them. The care compassion and professionalism they showed us was exceptional. The celebrant they recommended was also exceptional and the entire service was beautifully directed and really filled with love. It takes very special people to do this job and the O’Dwyers are more than special. We used them for my mother-in-law as well in 2018 and again the standard of professionalism and care more than surpassed expectations. Also recommended them to a friend whose mother passed during Covid and he tells me the process was completely faultless. Cannot recommend this independent local company enough. Our thanks to the entire team for everything.

  From our first conversion with Don O’Dyer I was convinced that his firm would complete my brother’s funeral with the dignity and compassion he deserved. He did not disappoint in anyway. My sibling passed away in distressing circumstances in London and we reside in the North but all our concerns were dispelled with the necessary details being taken care of in a professional and sympathetic manner. A special mention must go to Claudette who went far beyond the call of duty in making all the arrangement proceed without a hitch. We would recommend O’Dyer Independent Funeral Directors without any hesitation whatsoever.

In the time of grief and sadness, I felt the care, thoughtfulness and sympathy displayed by them. They allowed for us to linger and meet family and friends after the service because they realised the impact my mother made and had on so many people. As a result of the time spent after the service, they made sure that the time was extended for the burial to take place.   We recently lost our brother Paul Carroll and had him repatriated home to Ireland. We couldn’t praise the service of Don and Claudette enough, in all of their interactions with us. They were compassionate, professional and completely reliable. They communicated with us at all times throughout the process and attended to all our requests. Initially we had not thought to have a London vigil but are so pleased that we and his London friends got to say ‘Goodbye’ before we brought him home. We’d certainly recommend O’Dwyer’s. Thank you.🙏

  During the process of losing a love one, it can be really hard to make decisions or know what to do, or where to turn. This is where O’Dwyer offer you the best support and care. There really are in a class of their own! Loosing both parents within 3 years presented the opportunity to see the consistency of care shown by Don, and his amazing team at O’Dwyers, on more than one occasion. My Dad had a vibrant and traditional Caribbean funeral, Don and his team knew exactly what was required and surpassed all our expectations. My Mother ( born and bread West Londoner) had the most beautiful and elegant funeral. The attention to detail was perfect. There’s not enough words to truly express our gratitude thank you will never be enough. Don, Anthea, Claudette, the team, really are a little bit of light, during very dark days.   Very professional and compassionate service. Took care of everything very efficiently. All we had to do was deal with our grief the rest was taken care. From start to finish the empathy, compassion and sincerity shown to us at such a difficult time was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble, they gave my Mum the most beautiful send off and not a single detail was forgotten. We have had many compliments from family and friends.
