Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and I'm not the biggest fella but I like a good feed of a morning to set the tone. Well I'd been on the tools since 6:30am with nothing but a doble dolce coffee in me, and to my annoyance I then had to drive from Leeds to Elland to pick something up. An inconvenient trip I thought, until I spotted an inviting little cafe on the corner. My belly had been having a word with me on the way over, chastising me for neglecting it thus far. Well, I thought, I'd better make some amends. I stepped inside. Clean and tidy little shop, nice looking menus with a good variety - maybe one day I'll sample their more exotic delights if the need arises. But I'm a breakfast traditionalist, and a classic bacon and sausage sarnie was calling my name. I placed my order - so far so good. Then I spotted a little extra on the board and my brain immediately sent its electrical impulses down to the aforementioned grumpy tummy. It responded in kind. "Go on" it said, "stick a cheeky hash brown in there." And so I did. The lady at the counter happily obliged, she could see I was serious about this sandwich. Let me tell you, the meats were cooked to perfection, the bread bun was a very decent size and good quality, and the hash brown was the proverbial cherry on top of this celebratory breakfast cake. Nice amount of ketchup applied - not too much to overpower the flavour, just enough to moisten each delicious mouthful. So thank you ladies, it wasn't such an inconvenient trip to your fine town at all. I hope this review makes your day because that sandwich made my morning.
