Very special place. Comfortable and quiet rooms, well equipped bathrooms. Perfect for three people/couples as you can have the second floor of the house , where the rooms are, entirely for you. Excellent breakfast, wide choice, fantastic quality. And the most important thing, Annie, our host, made us feel at home right from the beginning.

Spent a special night here for a family birthday celebration, booking all three bedrooms. Annie is a most welcoming and charming host, and has put her heart and soul into creating a special, luxurious place to stay. The dinner she arranged for us, cooked by a Masterchef contestant contact of hers, was truly excellent. We all agreed some of the best food we have ever had. Thank you to Annie and her team, and congratulations on creating a wonderful home from home.

Set in a lovely 18th century town house with great character. Crammed with pictures, nicknacks and interesting furniture. All 3 bedrooms in the available accommodation are on the second floor. Feels private. Great for a family visit if you don't mind a few stairs. Rooms are well equipped and comfortable with some nice touches. Tea and coffee provided but some little snacks, sweets and biscuits as standard. TV in all rooms. One larger room with big bathroom across the landing and two smaller rooms with ensuite bathrooms. All rooms very comfortable. Great breakfast. Nice selection of cereals, toast and cooked breakfast to order, including a very filling vegetarian option, which I had and excellent full English which my family had. Good wine and beer list. Car parking available at a reasonable cost in public carpark almost opposite. Easy 5 minute walk into town centre. Would thoroughly recommend.

We had the most amazing 25th Wedding Anniversary Dinner. The venue is the most sumptuous and luxurious I've ever come across. Annie and her team greeted us and our guests at the door, provided the most thoughtfully designed aperitifs then we sat down to the dinner the personal chef had created for us. The whole experience was wonderful and we have no hesitation in recommending Number 1 to everyone who wants a once-in-a-lifetime dining experience.
