    Great company, excellent fires - sadly the supplier from a few years back, Browns of London, went into liquidation a few months after I had paid them a large £5k cheque. Fortunately when I had a problem with our fire today, testing it ahead of a possibly cold winter, I discovered that Nu-Flame are still going strong, and their technical guru Stacy was brilliant in kindly sorting out the issue (which turned out to be mainly my stupidity…). I’m a very satisfied customer !

    Bought a Nu-Flame Evo balanced flue, glass fronted fire June 2021, in February 2022 the front glass cracked. Apparently the supplier has gone bust, so I asked nu-flame if they could supply a replacement glass under the warranty to me and I would get a local Gas safe engineer to fit it. They have totally ignored my inquiry, clearly they are not concerned with customer satisfaction or helping in any way. Avoid.

    I have had problems with the coals disintegrating and had to have their technicians visit twice. On the second occasion they said the problem was the fire was overhearing so they removed the baffle. I was told I had caused the problem by moving the coals which is a lie. Then I was told they removed the baffle for safety reasons because there was something wrong with the chimney. I had the chimney checked and no problem was found. In my opinion the coals are not fit for purpose and disintegrate causing the gas jets to be blocked. I only had the fire 2 yrs and now having to buy another fire. Because they removed the baffle the fire doesn’t produce any heat and totally useless. Also I took out their extended warranty which in my opinion is a scam. The warranty is though Domestic&General and when I phoned their helpline I was told we don’t deal with gas fires. I demanded they send someone to attend the fault and the person they sent knew nothing about the fire. Nu-Flame states all work we be carried out by their technicians which is a lie. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone.

    We bought a Nu Flame gas fire just 12 months ago so we only used it for a few times last winter! November this year It wouldn’t start up so I got a gas engineer to come and look at it and to my dismay the thermocouple wasn’t working! So It had to be replaced and cost me over £230. I tried to get something back from these people and “in the small print” this should be replaced every year! I WAS NOT WARNED PRIOR TO PURCHASE! Absolute disgrace in my view as it was expensive and I would not have bought it knowing this was going to have to be replaced every year! The previous fire we had for over 10 years never had this done! And the engineer who replaced it said he has never had to replace a thermocouple on any gas fires within 12 months of fitting! So you pay for a better quality item and get ripped off ! A very very costly mistake so beware if buying a gas fire ! Don’t buy a Nu Flame.
