I have used Carlton solicitors to witness me signing documents that I needed to use abroad. Raj Padhiar came and witness the signing. The lady on the phone is extremely abrupt and rude, has no patience to deal with any query!! I just spoke to her asking about wheelchair access and she gave me a very stern and rude response, said thank you and put the phone down on me, not accommodating at all!! It’s now been almost two weeks I’ve since I first contacted them followed by several emails and called several times now and left a message for Mr. Raj to get back to me regarding a letter to be notarised so I know the exact cost. But just because the document couldn’t be accessed the first time I’ve not had any response eversince!! Very frustrating and disappointing!!

I had an extremely bad experience and really felt cheated after paying £360 for a service that cost only £60 in other notary offices. I went there to certify a document and I was charged £360 for the service. A friend of mine who went to a different office was only charged £60 and on top of that his passport was also certified within the same price. I contacted the office back to know why there was such a big disparity in prices as I was charged 6X more but I didn’t receive any answer. What makes it worse is that unlike my friend whose application was accepted, mine was rejected. So I might have to spend another £60 on top of the £360 that pointlessly went to the drain. Please be very careful. Have a rough idea of the cost around before enquiring any service.

I had been recommended to Raj by another Notary as they were unable to help me, it was an urgent, short notice need to get documents notarised & it looked like I might run out of the little time I had been given. When I telephoned out of the blue the lady on reception was very helpful, she found a way to fit me in that afternoon & gave me directions, etc. When I arrived I'd expected it to be quiet, that's usually the only way you get a 'squeeze in' but it was the opposite, despite this I was dealt with very quickly & with little fuss. I found the whole set up to be very professional, Raj made me feel welcome & at ease, helped me to understand what needed to be done & explained the costs involved for each part. I would recommend him & if I need this sort of thing in future, or any legal advice, I wouldn't hesitate to call on him again.
