I put 1 star because if I didn't put 1 star I can't find a negative star to put. Thus I will not be able to put this review. Very unprofessional. Money minded. He likes money more than giving a good service. He did a power of attorney for me which was not for UK. I could not even used it in Mauritius. To a point that the notary in Mauritius doubted my documents. He copied and paste from internet. He did not know that you cannot give a power of attorney to buy and sell at the same time. Charged me £301 When I asked him to delete a line he charged me another £365. In his invoice he mentioned £20 for going to the post office. I query this and he said he is charging me to walk to and back from the post office. When I refused to give him £20 and send £345. He returned the documents as a photocopy and missing the passport bit attached. Took my money and send me an unfinished work. Job altogether cost me £646 for a power of attorney which I can't even used. He does not even reply to email. I have reported to the legal ombudsman and will go to the police. He is very unprofessional and arrogant person. Not recommended

We used Mr Bernier to notorise a new lease for us. I found him extremely helpful, kind and professional at all times. He gave us some excellent advice and even researched some information for us that we had got wrong so that we could correct it. He was also very reasonably priced which was a bonus. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again or to recommend him to others.

Called to simply inquire about having a document (UK) notarised from a quick google search and his telephone manner was horrendous; arrogant, sarcastic and patronising. Decided to give us a description on what a notary is and listed a long list of African countries for where his work is relevant. An unnecessary lecture for a simple inquiry. Would not look to return to his service, even for international uses.

Emailed and received no response, then followed up and still haven’t received a response. Finally, called and got his voicemail. After a period of time he returned my call only to laugh at the fact that my name is “TJ”. He may not have meant anything by it, but in any profession, one should be aware of their words (or lack of), particularly during a time where email and virtual chats are the norm. I appreciate he may have justifiable reasons, but there are many notary public’s to choose from.
