I recommend this school to anyone considering it for their children. My children have been attending since they started in kindergarten and have now joined the Upper School. They have always enjoyed going to school and the variety of subjects on offer. The school has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere and I have been very impressed by the level of care displayed by the teaching staff towards all of the children. If you would like to see the school, I would suggest that you attend one of the regular introductory mornings as this will give you a really good insight into the school and how it runs on a day to day basis.

Since our child has been at the Steiner school he has become the positive, loving and eager to learn child he was before he went to State secondary school. He is respected and encouraged, instead of crushed and punished. The teachers are very conscientious and kind. Everyday he tells me what they have been learning with excitement and joy. He says it is the "best school in the world" and everyday he comes out smiling. I am so glad we found this school, I feel our child's education is in very good hands.

I would highly recommend this School. I feel that seeing the child as an individual and encouraging them to see learning as something enjoyable has produced some wonderful results in the children. My son is very happy and seeing him develop on all levels is such a joy. The School is based in lovely grounds giving the children the chance to enjoy nature and fields and forgetting that they are in the centre of Norwich. If you are feeling it is time to see education as a journey and not a race for your child I would recommend you take a look at this School.

As with other Waldorf schools, Norwich Steiner School provides a holistic education based on Steiner's model of child development encompassing physical, emotional, intellectual and moral development. What that means is that your child feels really met and his or her needs come first, rather than in the mainstream system where it seems to be more a case of filling up a bucket with facts and then endlessly checking the bucket for leaks. NSS is also in a tiny minority in this country in that its upper school is not compromising the rich Steiner curriculum by doing GCSEs alongside (and only half doing both); the leaving qualification will be the International Steiner School Certificate which is a much more organically reached qualification (recognised by UCAS) and so much more suited to our daughter who found the constant testing in mainstream highly stressful. All in all, it is a highly nurturing and creative environment which allows your child to fulfill his or her potential in the true sense i.e. allowing the child to express and be who they want to be rather than who or what the education system wants them to be.

The school provides a good all-round education for our children. We consider them to be very happy there - especially when we see them in a play or similar. The staff are very committed and there is a genuine feeling of warmth among parents and staff. I would recommend anyone who is interested to get in touch to arrange a visit.

Having decided on an alternative education for our two children, the Norwich Steiner school seemed a logical choice. A warm atmosphere pervades the wonderful building, the teachers are just excellent and most important our children are very happy and doing fine.
