Be careful here. I arrived at 4pm. I was told it was a 3 hour wait for a doctor, but I was there for 6 hours. I got called in at 10pm and told I'd missed my original time slot at 8:05. I told the lady I hadn't been anywhere, I'd just been sat waiting. Two minutes later, the penny dropped and I realised a support worker called me for an ob check at 8pm. And whilst with her, the doctor must have called me aswell. And I couldn't respond because I was in for obs. I assumed they would know I was having obs, so didn't think to ask if I'd been called for anything else. How foolish of me. Believing the NHS was more synchronised made me stay and wait an extra two hours. Then when I was seen, I was told I'd need surgery. Then I was told no, i just needed more antibiotics. Then I was told I shouldn't have been referred to A and E, I should have been sent to Urgent care. The thing is my local urgent care centre is on my doorstep and gives appointment times. Which would have saved a lot of hassle. But my GP said I needed to go to A and E. Moral of story, question everything or you'll be messed about.

Absolutely outstanding care given by kind, compassionate professionals. The speed of giving him the assistance he needed was exceptional. The methodical approach and the way they kept us updated was reassuring. If the care he receives as we move from here to face a future of further treatment is as good we will be very satisfied. Thank you.

Just under 3 hours for my entire visit to A&E. Booked for surgery the following day. Incredible bunch of people. Highly clean and professional. All the staff are reassuring, kind, helpful and accommodating.

Mentally and physically abused. Disgusting. The way I was treat there was unacceptable. Luckily I manages to push a transfer to the freemans I which I realised if I didn't I'd probably be dead. I was abused by a whole ward at cranlington. They took videos of me and posted me on social media. When I was mentally sick and had iv's and a drain tube sticking out my chest. I was laughed at. I witnessed students on rounds laugh and male jokes about patients should be dead. Making their round leader break down. Absolutely disgusting. This place needs serious review

Attended whilst on holiday in the area for day surgery for my daughter after she broke her arm. Outstanding care from start to finish. No waiting. Seamless flow of care. Absolutely brilliant staff and all during the doctors strike.

I felt compelled to write a review following my recent visit (albeit reluctantly and daunting due to such previous issues relating to back trauma) as the care I received by the doctor who oversaw my care (Samuel Allison) was absolutely outstanding. He greeted me with a reassuring smile and his overall mannerism and care continued to provide reassurance throughout, that I was not wasting their time and validated me being there as I had been putting off and waiting to see if my familiar symptoms eased. Having previously been misdiagnosed and effectively ‘fobbed off’ by GP’s, he thought outside of the box (whilst still complying with his processes and protocols) and allowed me to lead with my individual concerns and symptoms and recognised that not all patients ‘tick all the boxes’ and not a ‘one size fits all’ approach. The duration of my whole visit was 5 hours, including triage, follow up with Samuel, who arranged MRI and then another follow up with my results, which is fantastic given the time/cost constraints on the NHS. Whilst my results reassured me that I didn’t require surgery which was positive news; however, also not being particular positive around issues it flagged up, I can not fault the overall care and empathy I received which was exemplary and Samuel is a credit to the NHS and a testament to why pay should continue to be negotiated in line with their level of care and expertise and to ensure they feel valued to promote the future stability of services/NHS.

It's a strange building based on circles. The care given to my friend was excellent. Visiting is very strictly controlled so don't drop in without booking a visit first
