A lovely set up with some stuff to nerd out to! It would be a bit better if they had maybe a shop, or a public area to hang out and grab a drink seeing as how most places are kinda far.

Overall lacklustre experience, noisy unsettled visit with terrible customer service. The building - I can not fault the building of the shire house, I adored the craftsmanship and for that I would give 5stars. Customer Service - However, my harsh rating is due to following. There was an issue with the plumbing it made a prolonged, god awful noise whenever the toilet was flushed, taps used or heating activated. I wish I could upload the videos so you could hear the noise. Anyway, I contacted Northshire upon my return home about the issue and I had zero correspondence after three emails and a follow up over a week. I then received a email over a week later saying thank you for bringing this to our attention it appears to have fixed itself, with zero apology. I don't no many companies which of whom care very little for customer satisfaction or their overall experience. They also really need to update their website to, as a lot of the animals aren't there anymore. After thoughts - The building is fantastic, however for the money you spend per night, you would expect more. There is no worktop space to cook as their is an enormous microwave in the way, which could have easily been kept up out the way, or wall mounted. Their is lovely decor, paying homage to the hobbit franchise however a crudely build butcher block type tv unit is an eyesore as well as a bare plywood repair I presume to view while in the bath, which could have easily been painted blue. To drown the noise of the plumbing we decided to watch the hobbit DVD which was scratched beyond repair resulting in overall lacklustre experience, noisy unsettled visit with terrible customer service. Its been two weeks since my visit with still no correspondence, I am so unhappy as we really wanted to come back for the Hagrid house.

We stayed during November-17 just for a few nights. I thought it was great! and our family really enjoyed the novelty of the hobbit house. there was farm animals roaming around and ponies at the gate of the hobbit house which the kids loved.
