Dartford branch has helped me twice when I've struggled with my mental health And I'm going to be attending many more courses to help me improve my life skills etc soon. Be aware that there are sometimes long delays to be seen for Counselling (It's not personal, it doesn't mean they don't care about you) It's just that many volunteer their time for us and they're already helping so many who need one to one counselling but they will get to you. better to be on their list than not. (If you need urgent help i copied this from the Samaritans Website... Call us any time, day or night Whatever you're going through, you can call us any time, from any phone for FREE. 116123 Mind has many courses for helping prepare for work ,mindfulness and self esteem and Ecology island if you love nature and many more services to explore Art Theatre etc. A safe place to give you a helping hand to teach you skills and tools to help yourself feel better and cope better with others who feel the same way too. Five Stars all round. Lovely people Thank you all.

As one of the trustees for the charity we strive to give best possible support and service to those that need mental health support. Its extremely difficult to balance funding we get and support we are able to deliver, however we will always help those in need!

For the biggest mental health charity....they are certainly by FAR not the best. My experience with them was pretty dispicable from start to finish. The receptionist was rude and wanted me to go into detail about why I wanted support. I then had to have a face to face assessment which was highly traumatic, asked very personal questions and then I was given no support during or directly after. I then waited a long time for actual support to start...which again was absolutely useless, constantly being asked by someone with a mind numbing voice "and how does that make you feel" repeatedly. I was then put on an even longer waiting list for further support that I felt would be better suited to me, I was on the list for around 10 months, only to be told that I was no longer on the waiting list and would have to go through the whole process again! I instead applied for support through work, and then received a call from MIND telling me they could start my support with them. I told them that they had informed me weeks ago that I was no longer on their waiting list, the caller didn't understand why I had been told that. I went along to the preassessment for this support and had to pretty much sign my life away in a contract forbidding me to miss A SINGLE appointment, even for ill health or planned holidays and I HAD to attend every week and PAY for it. I did not feel I wanted or needed weekly support and told them whilst the support was reduced prices as to what you would pay privately, I could not afford £60pm on weekly sessions at the time. The assessor herself was lovely and agreed that the terms were unfair. I would avoid like the plague and either seek support through your work if they provide this, or pay for a BACP registered counsellor who will actually help you with your mental health, rather than making it far worse like MIND!
