We booked this cottage believing it was a secluded, quiet cottage, but what we got was in a terrace of 5, next to a construction depot. The onsite stables are only a few feet away, so great if you want to bring your horse, for £25/visit. Unfortunately the depot is a similar distance and makes a lot of noise coming and going from 6am until 11.30pm, shouting and slamming doors. In these modern times it should also be noted that the WiFi was very poor, good signal strength but no internet for hours, I was lucky to get 10-15 minutes at a time so forget any streaming content. The cottage itself is of a good standard but has been carefully photographed to conceal it's surroundings. EDIT: In the end we cut our stay here short after being woken up at 2.30 am and then again at 5.30am. The owner maintains it's only active from 7.00 to 16.00 but that simply isn't the case. It's probably worth mentioning that complaining to the owners is a waste of time, when we mentioned the comings and goings at all hours he practically called us liars, and when tried to help him by pointing out the shower leaking he said it wasn't because he'd had it fixed. Frankly, I hope his ceiling falls down.

We booked this cottage through Home away for a week in early April 2018. The cottage itself is compact and clean. However the pictures and description on the website do not give the whole picture. The advert refers to the "cottage" throughout, and the first disappointment was to find in fact the let is the first of five adjoining cottages which make up the conversion. We found the walls to be very thin, so that everyday activities could easily be heard together with much of the neighbours conversation and singing. The 360 video posted on the site shows the roofline of a large outbuilding. The yard to this building is next to the forecourt of the cottages, and although some attempt has been made to shield the site with trees, the yard houses a highways department depot, which stores street furniture and signs, and has piles of what looked like road mending materials. The yard is in use almost daily, starting around 7.00 am during our visit and ending at dusk. The patio, photographed looking back towards the cottage in the promotional photos is overlooked both by the access to this yard, and the large stables car park which is frequently in use. Stabling is opposite the patio, so there is only one aspect which is onto fields. Twice during our stay, with no warning, a bonfire was lit close by at around 5.00pm and acrid smoke drifted across the patio which was very unpleasant. When we booked , the advert said a king size bed in the master bedroom. This has now been corrected, as the bed was only a double. When we pointed how disappointed we were with the cottage to the owner because of these issues, we were advised that the yard was one of 'their other businesses', and that no one else had complained. The agents were also adamant that the description of the property was fair and pointed out that farmland implies use of heavy machinery which could be in constant use. They explained they had no control over what their clients put in their advert, relying on the client to be honest and tell them of any changes. As the other reviewer said, wifi signal was strong, but frequently no internet. Although the owners called in their IT person, who reset our password, after less than 24 hours of good internet access we were back to square one. There is little if any phone signal anywhere in the cottage. Two final points: if you do choose to book the cottage go direct through the agent mentioned on the Homeaway site and save yourself the £50 booking fee we were charged. make sure you arrive with milk, coffee etc to make a drink as there is no welcome pack. When we arrived there was also minimal supplies in terms of washing up liquid etc. Please take the opportunity to look at the photos which give evidence for the statements above. As we said to the agent, not an experience we would recommend or repeat.
