  Most dissatisfied and disappointed with staff attitude! I wouldn't even give it a One-Star rating. My mother was transferred from QE Hospital to Norman Power Centre on Friday afternoon. I asked for staff to request their GP to prescribe eye drops that my mother uses at the Care Home. I went to the trouble of getting the name of the eye drops from the Care Home and passed it to staff on Sunday evening. Today is Wednesday, and we are nowhere near to getting the eyedrops. My mother is bed bound at the moment, and whilst there is a TV in her room, there is no remote control. When I questioned the nurse on Duty, I was told that the previous resident had taken the remote when they were discharged. The solution offered was to move my mother into a room without TV, so there was no need for a remote control. During my conversation with the Sister in Charge, I was rudely interrupted and told she had another meeting and didn't want to take up much of my time. I was quite stunned by their attitude. Clearly, they do not have time for anybody. My brother and his wife are here in the country visiting family, and they came to visit my mother on Monday. I came to visit my mother the same evening after finishing work only to be turned away, as it was the Centre's policy to allow only 2 visitors per day. Staff were adamant I would not be allowed in, and so the Health Care Assistant and the Senior Nurse, both refused entry, and I was turned away. I am quite annoyed at the rude behaviour and staff's 'couldn't care less' attitude! It is a pity I can not take my mother out of this place in her present condition. If I could, I would get her out in a flash without a shadow of doubt. Poor Customer Service!!!!

  My husband spent over 3 weeks at Norman Power The staff are brilliant from cleaners to head nurse, they just couldn’t do enough for him all very friendly He was very happy there, and wouldn’t mind to have stoped there, his only complaint was the food, But he is a very fussy eater. Thank you all very much for looking after him and giving him such good care.

  This isw not a nursing home, just a dumping ground. Quality of care is poor. I am deperatly trying to get my wife out of the dump. There is no nursing content

  They looked after my dad very well, caring for all his needs. Very good staff and friendly as well. Good selection of Indian food. Highly recommend them. My dads nurse, Donna was caring too.

  My dad was sent here from the QE. He has Parkinson’s and is 86. I visited him on Father’s Day and one of his gifts was a nice cardi from M&S. when he was discharged a week later, he arrived home by ambulance, all his old clothes were returned except the brand new wool cardi. I spoke to one of the staff and asked her to look for it. She said she would call me back but never did. Despicable that staff would steal from vulnerable people that they are meant to be caring for but there is no other explanation and clearly nothing done to stop it.

  Awful... No sooner was my mother-in-law admitted, in the words of the Social Worker that wanted to "evict" her and would go to court to do so, as she was bed blocking. At the age of 95, having undergone a 5 hour open surgery operation, she needed physiotherapy and her strength building up, not living under the threat of eviction. They had no daily activities and patients left to vegetate. My wide and I, when visiting would play cards or dominoes with patients. Staff spent more time talking amongst themselves and did not rush when patients needed help to go to the toilet. Yesterday, 16th December, when three ladies who needed assistance in toiling, one care worker said, "They seem to think I am their personal assistant". Well yes you are, being a care worker that is what you are paid to do, care and assistant patients who need help with mobility. Today, my mother-in-law was discharge, and in their haste to get rid of her, discharged her without putting on her knickers. The Nursing Home she has been discharged to have never witnessed that level of care. My mother-in-law was left in bed to 10.00 a.m. Disgusted and relieved my mother-in-law is now receiving proper care. So much for NHS care. The earlier reviews are when it was a day care centre, now it is an overspill of unwanted patients from the Birmingham Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Shame on the NHS. Oh, do not bother telephoning, they don't answer the telephone or respond to voice mail messages.
