Had the pleasure of attending the 'Introduction to Astronomy' course here recently, which I thought was brilliant. All the speakers definitely knew their subject matter and the tour of the place to end the day was excellent too. Would highly recommend you check it out!

A real gem packed full of history, science and unique experiences. Hill so high that there's little light pollution, where you can look at planets and other cosmic bodies like nebulas through nearly two centuries old telescopes. The hight of British industry and engineering. Lots of opportunities to learn and ask questions in the public open evenings, planetarium show and even a chance to hold real meteorites in your hands! To contrast, a direct link and live images from the international space station and some very advanced computer gadgetry tracking meteorites and such! Amazing volunteers running the whole thing during a frosty winter night, hats off to you all!
