I was referred from the Walk In centre recently. I was triaged very quickly and during the first few hours had excellent attention and thorough investigations for a potentially serious problem. However after that I just sat, waiting for more stuff to happen which never did. After nearly 10 hours in ED I was finally admitted late at night. Not really the department's fault but lack of joined up thinking. My observation was that everyone else got sorted quicker than me during my time there.

Hell on earth, you can cry and scream. Nobody looks at you hours. Try to don’t get sick in this city. I hope everybody’s who’s working there to see in one day how it’s to play with human’s life.

Absolutely usless, and Appalling service, badly organised, not treating triage patients efficiently, aggressive triage nurse, over 6 hour waits. Staff/nurse wandering around looking for things because they don't appear to be organised. People left to bleed in waiting area while I was there with a huge head injury, with blood all down there face, there were there 6 hours with us, and was still waiting to be seen when we left. No wheelchair at entrance. Small waiting areas for people being sick, room not big enough to move wheelchairs around. Limited staff. Cleaning staff using the same cloths on everything, not spraying and antibacterial chemicals onto surfaces. No cups for the water machine. The list could go on...disgusting service Vets are better run than this place

Outstanding and I am absolutely delighted to have such a brilliant local hospital. I attended on Bank Holiday Monday (evening) with leg swelling and pain, suspecting a DVT. The care I received was fantastic. I had been triaged within twenty minutes of arriving. There was a bit of wait as you would expect but the seating area was comfortable, clean, air-conditioned and with music playing. The staff were so cheerful and helpful and could not have been more professional. I was sent for a chest x-ray and discharged with some medication, the whole visit being completed within five hours which I do not feel is bad at all. The VTE clinic booked me an appointment the following day on a day I had requested but I could have been seen the following day if I had wanted to. Much admiration and thanks to the amazing staff at this amazing hospital.

My friend left with a broken finger, wrapped in 3 pieces of tape. That's it. How, can anyone here with any shred of decency possibly call themselves a professional making her leave like that. She's a mum, and is now going to struggle because of the shocking quality of treatment. Knowing this I will never go here.

Would have given 5 stars but On our arrival the lady booking us in insisted we wore masks. I said I would but my 14 year old son couldn’t because he’s exempt (ADHD and anxiety) she said, ‘we don’t care about exemption here.’ I mean, it’s completely against the law to disregard exemption for a start.. but to say something so rude is very unprofessional. Anyway, the staff in the children’s department were fab. It was a 4/5 hour wait to remove a fish hook from his finger, but so pleased with how they treated us. Offering tea, sandwiches and crisps etc whilst we waited. Plus, being calm and patient with my son. Thank you 🙏 so much.

Turned up last night having vomited a thousand times with a searing pain in my abdomen. There was an 8 hour wait but triage bumped me up. I cant convey how professional the staff have been, coupled with genuine compassion. They obviously are a different breed of people that can't just be bought. I hope their management recognise this. A and E full of the usual impatient self centred idiots spattered with a few extreme mental health issues. They dealt with everyone so well that my pain reduced just from the assumption they knew what was what. Every single staff member has been kind and caring towards me. Even the porter that wheeled me across the site. I just hope that they get the recognition that they deserve. Its an amazing hospital, take it from someone who has been all over the country and the world. They are top of their game, moaning about wait times for next level care is not a reasonable complaint. *edit* it was a kidney stone. Extremely painful, don't recommend. Do recommend the hospital however, really great staff. People who care about how you feel is probably worth more than anything. Please let staff know how grateful we are that they are there to save us when things go bad. If I had been in a jungle and that happened I would have probably decided that there is no hope!

If I could give 0 stars I would. Sat waiting for 6 hours because the woman who saw my partner for assessment forgot about him and asked why he was waiting, only to told his paperwork had gone through and we could of been see way before. Now sat waiting after not being told what to do or where to go. I was contemplating switching to here to birth our child. After this experience I will absolutely be sticking to the QE instead.
