Embarrassingly poor customer service Have shopped in Noblett's for years with never a problem until this morning. No sooner had we went in the door, my mother and I were looking at wallpapers and had taken a sample (around 4 foot, enough to be able to see what it looked like on the wall) as we had done many times in the past without issue. My mother was about take another sample from a different roll when we were approached by a salesperson who took the roll of paper out of her and and told us we should to speak to a member of staff if we wanted a sample. He proceeded to passive-agressively advise that we were allowed 3 samples after that they would be 50p or a £1 each and insinuating it is because people were taking samples to fill gaps when they haven't got enough paper. He continued that it's also because you need to make sure you can see the pattern at which time he took the large sample we had and tore off a 1 ft piece which he gave back to us, whereby clearly contradicting his own reasoning. Furthermore, there were around 5-6 salespeople on the shop floor, a few of which were staring and hovering around us when we attempted to continue browsing. It was a hugely uncomfortable shopping experience which I ultimately vocalised to another member of staff before we left empty handed having spent less then 10 minutes in the shop. Advice to senior management: if this is how (what I suspect is) a supervisor behaves towards customers, I would be extremely concerned with the dynamic between your team itself. Management and customer service training would be recommended, particularly in relation to tone, delivery style and body language. Secondly, a better approach to sales would be to guide customers around some of the products which they are likely to buy, so you are not putting people off before they have even had a chance to look. For example, we attended today with all intentions of buying paint and paper, and would have likely spent within the £200 bracket (some of which could have been allocated to our "free" samples). Perhaps taking the customers intentions into consideration and asking them what they are looking for as opposed to reprimanding them for taking a sample would provide a more positive shopping experience.

I purchased wallpaper 2 weeks ago but my decorator thought it wasnt thick enough for our poor walls.All i wanted was a straight exchange but as i had lost my receipt the said they needed a QR code for it .I said i had my bank statement with the purchase details on it.I had spent £22.00 per roll so it wasnt cheap but no movement on it i will maybe loss £170.00 but they wouldnt move on it .Such awful customer care i will never be in that shop again i have bought paper there for over 30 years on a regular basis.I will never reccommend them to anyone.I just wish i had read comments on this before i purchased this paper i would have avoided them.
