Our landlord had Damford Brewer and Ives come in to carry out work listed on a council improvement notice. We had to move out for 7 days for this to happen so we did. We moved all our furniture upstairs and cleaned the living room and bathroom as these were the rooms the were working in. When we returned to our home the first thing we noticed was the mess all over the patio by our door. We couldn't get into the property as the door handle had been broken with no attempt to fix. When we finally got in the first thing we noticed was the large amount of dust. The workmanship is appalling and they had left sharp metal beading sticking out of plaster. The skirting board's were very poorly fitted with splinters sticking out of corners that didn't even meet properly. I would personly never recommend this company as we have tryed to contact and no answer. We are appalled with the condition they have left our house. They even used my bottle opener, covered it in plaster dust and put it back in our cutlery drawer. Leaving KFC wrappers ond empty beer bottles in our recycling bin. This company is a joke and have no decent standards of work at all.

Ordered a Positive Pressure Unit for install in October 2021, they delayed install by 2 weeks. Installer wired it incorrectly and it blew my bedroom lights. 2 visits later and 6 months on, I still don't have a functioning unit and therefore no improvement to my condensation/damp issues. Also, they never respond to messages so I have to chase them.

Unfortunately we had a terrible experience with Danford, Brewer and Ives. We were left with an appalling, wonky finish on the plastering post damp proofing as they left an inexperienced worker to do the job unsupervised. They did come back to improve the works, but as one of the workers they sent in to do this said, it should’ve all been taken off. It still wasn’t great when they left (numerous other visiting trades pointed it out). They couldn’t guarantee the original worker had damp proofed properly from the inside and proceeded to inject from the outside. The repointing done after this was (and still is) atrocious. There were other niggles. I asked them to keep the fireplace covered which we had newly fitted - they didn’t. The carpenter did an appalling job fitting the skirting the first time but did come back and improve it. We gave up in the end and got another company in to sort their mess out and not inconsiderable cost. Seemed totally incapable of doing a decent job at the first time of asking.

Good job, done in a timely, professional manner and to a high standard. Kitchen cabinets had to be removed to address the rising damp but everything was put back in the right place without being damaged. Guys were friendly and respectful of the property, cleaned up after themselves. Can't fault the service. Would definitely recommend and will not hesitate to use again in future! :)

I phoned asking for help and was told someone would phone back "tomorrow" Two says later after no phone back I tried again and left message. 3 days later ditto. Now given up. Their website boast excellent customer service.....I think not.

Right from the outset, the approach of this company is reassuring, efficient and professional. The team that came to carry out work to combat damp in an old property were all helpful, thoughtful, careful, pleasant and keen to do the best possible job. The work was done on budget and a guarantee is on its way. The work took a little longer than predicted but I found that reassuring: DB&I are keen to please and do a proper job!
