What am amazing experience. Saw the Nimrod and Shackleton planes up close. The Shackleton started up its engines and it really was an experience. Loved it and can't wait to experience the Nimrod firing up very soon. If you get the chance to see and hear these planes fire up then please go - you will also be supporting the preservation of these great aircraft. The volunteers are knowledgeable and very friendly also.

Dedicated volunteers are here on Saturdays to give tours of the Nimrod and every third Saturday in the month the engines get fired up, providing a stupendous noise. It's even more interesting to pay to go on board whilst this is being done. A fantastic aircraft, friendly and knowledgeable volunteers, central location - well worth a visit!
