I am not sure why this was up for debate in the first place but this man voted that animals cannot feel pain and are incapable of having feelings (obviously forgetting that animals have a central nervous system), also voted to lift the ban on fox hunting (why?), also voted to oppose plain packaging on tobacco (previously receiving hospitality from a tobacco company) and according to his Wikipedia page - accepts large donations from biomass companies (in exchange for what?). In 2017 he was told to apologize to the House of Commons after failing to declare his interest in a telecommunications company while taking part in parliamentary inquiries relating to the industry. The list goes on...
