If you are a primordial beast looking to crawl back into the pit of filth and chaos from which you came, then this may be the GP for you. Just kidding, but now that I have your attention, I can tell you about my experience at this surgery where I encountered some interesting and chaotic things. Doctors: In my experience over about a year, the level of care has been inconsistent and, on average, mediocre. Sometimes when I called about an ongoing issue, it felt like I was starting at square one, as if they hadn't bothered to read my record. The timescale of an issue was not always understood, which definitely affected my level of care. Asking questions sometimes irritated staff, which was disheartening because I like to understand things. I often felt that they belittled me or didn't take the time to understand what I was experiencing. I feel if they took more time, then I wouldn't have had to go back so much for the same thing. Reception: Like other reviewers, I've experienced quite a few problems with reception which is mainly where, in my opinion, the metaphorical pit of filth and chaos in this establishment resides. There have been several times when they said they would call and didn't. The reception, mainly certain people in management, have demonstrated a surprising lack of professionalism at times. Mostly because of passive-aggressive, intentionally incompetent, and surprisingly informal responses. I'm definitely nitpicking on the last one, but I was genuinely astounded at some of the responses I've gotten in emails. Prescription Service: I've also experienced problems trying to get medication, particularly repeat prescriptions. I've had to call on three separate occasions to get the date fixed for the same medicine, which they've gotten wrong again, which is frustrating. All in all, I give it two stars because they have pretty decent facilities, meaning they are relatively clean and comfortable. Plus, some of the staff and GPs are lovely and competent, so I'd like to acknowledge that. However, the care level is highly variable and inconsistent. They are not currently taking new patients, but even still, this is way better than two of the other surgeries I previously belonged to in Southampton.

I have always found the reception to be very helpful and kind. The team are always available to listen and offer advice and guidance, so please give them a chance.

Unhelpful incompetent admin. They tell you they call you but never do. Probably forgot. When I called she was making excuses. If I didn't call noone would get in touch. Disgraceful service. If you sick you will get sicker from only having to talk to them. I don't know the doctors as have not had a chance to see one when I was ill. I would leave no starts at all but it doesn't allow to post this review. I will place formal complain further.

Awful, rude, unpleasant, condescending, arrogant and patronising with no respect for their patients, especially the elderly. Avoid them. Their only interest is in the money they get from the public purse, while not delivering the service they are paid for. If any High St business did that the directors would be jailed for fraud.

1 star is way to much for their service which is horendous. The reception staff are always rude and cold to you after picking up with about 2 hours delay. You have to tell them that you or your kid, are dieing in pains so you can get an appointment with a medic. If you need a repeat prescription they always decline it on the reason that you have to come for heartbeats measurments...and they book you in after 2 weeks - 1month for that. So if you care for your health and your loved ones and/or if you depend on a treatment prescription, that normaly they MUST help you with, you rather change this pseudoGP location with a better and more receptive one as I am going to do ASAP.

They ghosted their patients during lockdown, and un-prescribed an important medication for purely financial reasons (the doctor insisted it was over-the-counter despite it not being over-the-counter)

Rang up as a chronic asthmatic with a chest infection, receptionist told me to go to minor injuries walk in clinic or ring 111. Just speechless at this point and breathless, literally. There should be repercussions for such a lack of patient care.

worst GP in southampton. At 8 am I was to sign my son to the clinic for consultation with a doctor. The lady at the window told me that the doctor would call around 9 o'clock. I note that for 24 hours my son has a fever of 39.5. he is only 11 months old, I marked it next to the window. Nobody called. I was there around 3 pm asking what about my visit because my son is crying all the time, coughing and has a fever. The lady said she told me the doctor would call after 9. and I answered her well but it's already 3pm. no one called my baby is now in the hospital the ambulance has come to pick him up. I warn you, if you want to risk the health of your loved ones, this is the best place for it. what we spend our taxes on. where is the Hippocratic Oath. this place is one big circus
