I used to live in central Birmingham and used here and despite moving a little further away and having closer donation centres, I have continued coming here every 3-4 months when I’m in Birmingham for other reasons. It’s conveniently located near the train station, though the first time I visited, I did walk past it initially before actually paying attention. I am really uncomfortable with needles, but the staff always put me at ease. Toilets are decent too. You can put held up if they are busy, but they offer free parking for 2 hours at a nearby car park (though I usually get the train in). I do recommend if you’re going to do the good thing and give blood (or plasma) that this is a purpose built venue rather than a pop-up at other places. I’ll be seeing you again soon!

I give blood here and they are very friendly and proffestional staff I cant praise them enough. I hate needles and have problems at times. But it took me roughly about 7 minutes for my blood donation. As I stated this unit is excellent and they look after you proffestinally and with care.

Right off the bat. Go donate plasma. Thank you. I've been visiting this place regularly for the last half a year. And I never had anything that could even come close to being a problem. Wait times are dependant on the day, and the time you arrive. If you want to make it a quick visit just come over during the week, or even Friday afternoon. Weekends are bit more busy, unless you go in the morning. Staff is always so kind yet professional. Helping you with a smile, and making sure you are comfortable throughout the process. If you ever think of donating, know that for me the first time donation took about an hour and a half (only cause I was reading all the info they gave me). After that its about an hour. That time may change depending on the individuals physique (I think so at least). Again. Go donate plasma. Or blood. It costs you nothing, just a bit of time. And you get some coffee and snacks.

I found the staff to be overall caring and professional, I had suffered no issues after giving blood; upon the blood being extracted I was offered snacks. Yums. The things that I didn't enjoy too much included fairly lengthy wait times, as I had waited for over an hour to be seen to on two occassions; although it is a small issue, I would have prefered it to be an in and out procedure. Located relatively close to the building is a movie theater, which can help pass time until the appointment or after. The receptionist was nice and remembered me from a previous visit, it is a small thing but overall gave me a good impression and made me feel reassured. The staff were more than happy to take a picture of me giving blood and were extremely friendly. There was wifi present in the building which I enjoyed utilising. The largest issue I had was finding the location on my first trip as I have not been in that area for a while, so I kept walking past the building, once you find it, this is a non issue.

I've donated here several times and the staff are absolutely lovely. They take really good care of you and the snacks are pretty good too! You can also get two hours of free parking at a nearby car park (NCP New Street Car Park) which is a great help, just be sure to bring your parking ticket with you, and ask for a ticket at reception before you leave
