My son was diagnosed in 2017 and had to fight for two years to go on a course they said I needed to do before they would help him. Each time I phoned I was told I would get a letter or that I had 'failed to attend' I can't fail to attend something I know nothing about. Phoned again almost two years later and was told 'oh we have the course running next month, you should have the letter'. I did not have the letter but a few days later got one with the postage date stamped THE DAY AFTER I phoned. Finally did the course, phoned to ask if they would finally see my son and they tild me because they had no correspondence they had taken him off their system. Struggled by myself since. Recently had to rerefer my son and they sent him to communication pathways and I had no idea until I phoned and asked what was going on. Social communication pathways is just as abysmal as camhs. Absolutely no hope for our young children when services are below subpar.

Absolutely abysmal service - reception staff are miserable and incompetent. If your child is referred here please do them a favour and request somewhere else. First issue was me calling and requesting an emergency appointment due to serious concerns for my daughters mental health and safety (already a patient and under CAMHS) - advised I’d get a callback ASAP but didn’t receive one ever. Next we had an initial screening appointment for CBT - the appointment date was the only day that was really inconvenient to us so I called 2 weeks ahead to enquire the possibility of changing this, I in no way said I wished to cancel the appointment it was purely an enquiry. Yet again I’m told on the phone that someone will call back to discuss this, didn’t receive a call so I just get on with it as I’m used to the poor service by now. I make arrangements with work and build my daughter up ready for her appointment only to get there and find it’s been cancelled ‘upon request’ and they’re going to get in touch to provide a new appointment. At no point at all was this communicated with me, if I call to ask about the POSSIBILITY of changing an appointment and am waiting for a call back to discuss this, this does not translate to ‘Cancel my appointment without consent and do not make any further contact about rescheduling’ Useless

Truly awful. Constant refusal to accept children for diagnosis despite obvious need and when they do diagnose, absolutely no support afterwards.
