Southend C.C.G. refused me medication which was essential for my well being and prescribed by a top Southend Cardiac Consultant. The refusal decision by the C.C.G. as explained by them is based purely on the financial cost not medical grounds. Their motto must be cost before the value of life, so I say shame on the decision makers there. It has been diagnosed after a number of heart attacks that I have an inherited high cholesterol level and the cholesterol is of the unhealthy type. I'm body intolerant to statin drugs but that makes no difference to the C.C.G. as I said their decisions are based in cost not patient care.
