Despite the ability to phone and get through to an advisor they have not helped me assess the timeliness of my claim which is delayed beyond their stated service level statement. Even when escalated to the awards team, only bland 'form letters' are sent with zero specific information except for my SD number! There is no way of checking the timeliness or status of my claim or knowing how big the general delays are or how to tell if any progress is being made or whether there is a genuine need for more information from me. The process of claiming has not been reassuring.

Overpaid me by nearly 7000 pounds and have then ignored my timeline of events. They have said I must have known about overpayment. They said nothing and then over 7 weeks later send a demand stating that monies outstanding. Had no correspondence detailing payment or that it was overpayment until letter dated 21.0122. I rang up in December thinking I was having a pay cut only to be told about arrears being paid. The phone call lasting 13 mins tape has disappeared conveniently. They keep insisting that I knew of overpayment. I knew nothing and they have forced a chronically ill pensioner to appeal to Pension Ombudsman . They have terrorised me and undermined my health. NHS Pensioners beware these rather nasty bullies who ignore facts to cover up their mistakes. They are quite evil! Danger to the ill and NHS workers who they treat with contempt.

I called today enquiring when my pension is coming in as its late. I spoke to an adviser and asked about whether I could get a lump sum or change the term of my pension as its very little. The adviser was very patronising saying I've asked for this before but I understand from the pensions ombudsman if you have less than 30,000 coming in per annum it can be considered. I didn't expect the way the adviser spoke to me . He said I drew out my pension early I did not but drew it out at the right time. I didn't know it was going to be such a small amount the forms the hrmc don't always clarify figures. However a more sympathetic approach would have been nice it is clear the adviser just couldn't change his stance but just bleated on I've asked for this before. I live on less than 700.00 a month so live well below the 30.000 that the pension ombudsman pointed out. Shame your pension adviser could not be more polite if he lived on what I had to he would then understand.
