At NHS Blood Trust Donation Centre, we do not hold any events or sports at our location. Our main focus is on collecting blood donations from willing donors to help save lives. What type of blood products do you offer and do you have them readily available?
We offer a range of blood products including red blood cells, platelets, and plasma. We strive to always have these products readily available for those in need, but we do encourage donors to give regularly to ensure a consistent supply. What are the requirements for donating blood and how often can one donate?
To donate blood, one must be in good health, at least 17 years old (16 with parental consent), and weigh at least 50kg. There are also other eligibility requirements that can be found on our website. Donors can typically donate whole blood every 12 weeks, or more frequently for other types of donations such as platelets or plasma. What measures are in place for the safety and security of visitors, including emergency response plans and security personnel?
As a blood donation center, we prioritize the safety and security of our donors and staff. Recently found the St Albans store as we have a new puppy and cannot recommend it enough. Brilliant shop with high quality products and the most friendly, knowledgeable staff that are clearly animal lovers. They even do a puppy playtime which we will be attending over the next few weeks.
