Recently moved out of the area but this was the best GP I’ve ever had. 9/10 I was always able to get an appointment face to face on the day or else I could book one very soon after. Listened to all my health concerns and was checked out.

One of the receptionists was extremely unprofessional and rude when I called yesterday morning with serious symptoms for five days. I described my severe symptoms and she told me “we don’t have any availability, call 111” and then she hung up, sounding even bored or irritated as if this is not her job and that patients are calling there just for fun(!). I had to call again and was lucky enough to speak with another receptionist who immediately booked me in for an appointment on the same day. Makes me think when the first receptionist dismissed me without any hesitation, is she’ supposed to help people or at least not obstruct them from getting any help, or she has the power to make blind egotistic and harmful decisions? Also a couple of more points: when making an appointment it doesn’t hurt confirming whether it’s via phone or face to face - the last 2-3 years I had all my appointments via phone, so face to face is not the default de facto, as you claimed. Finally, when I arrived 15min early for my appointment I was locked outside, due to ‘training’ at the surgery, despite explaining to a lady inside that I was full of sweat and shivering since I came there with 39C fever (and had not been informed that the surgery would be closed for some time). This was not just rude, this is inhuman and shows lack of any elementary sense of empathy. May I remind you that a healthcare system is supposed to treat individuals and not “sacks of potatoes”? A bit of common sense and less arrogance from some of your staff is something you need to look into…maybe that’s what you really need training for. I hope someone from your surgery will read this so that less people will have to go through the same treatment. I would even appreciate a personal feedback from this complaint, but probably asking for too much, I know.

I received very awful, very incompetent service from this practice. I suffer trauma as a result of botched service provided by Dr. Bernard and other doctors from this practice such as Dr. Linehan. These people failed to diagnose my symptoms correctly and produced incorrect diagnosis in medical letters written for complaints with University and the OIA. My repetitive requests to correct the letters were ignored by 3 GPs from this practice causing ongoing distress. I approached Dr. Linehan to get the letters corrected as they were not reflecting the correct diagnosis and yet again I was met with ignorance that caused me further stress and negative mental health impact. I received awful, distressing looks from Dr. Bernard that made me feel uncomfortable. This type of behaviour is falling under the medical gaslighting. I am shocked that people like this can be doctors. I suffered extremely with acute stress as a result of their botched assistance. They lied to me that they do not have access to my medical records when I moved to another practice. Each practice where I was a patient has a full access to my medical record even when I move to another practice. Shockingly, the Practice Manager was totally useless and supports the lies produced by the GPs. Now, the case is submitted to the General Medical Council for investigation. Totally awful experience. Another doctor from this practice told me that I was lying when I was reporting my symptoms. There are many examples of shocking and pathological behaviours of GPs from this practice. Each letter they produced failed to have any medical opinion even though it was requested many times. Dr. Bernard was listing a bunch of medical conditions in the medical letter without giving any opinion on fitness to work and opinion on fitness to submit complaints! As a result, all letters produced by her were totally useless and created an open window for other people, not medical professionals to abuse me and act against my interests. Medical letters submitted from this practice for backdating the benefits were rejected by DWP and only once I received a letter with an opinion from psychiatrist, the benefits were backdated by the judge. The judge in the court said that the letters listing conditions are not helpful. Each letter must say that the patient is unfit to work and cannot do certain tasks and work. My repetitive requests for correcting my medical letters were ignored by 3 doctors from this practice. Totally botched assistance and ignorance of doctors from Newnham. I am shocked that doctors in this practice repetitively ignore the symptoms reported by the patient and even tell that the patient is lying when reporting problems with health. It is utterly disgusting. I requested that Dr. Bernard refrains from working as my GP and even though this was subject of the complaint, she still got involved causing me distress. All doctors and even practice manager cover up for Dr. Bernard incompetence.

I have been a patient at this exceptionally busy surgery for almost twenty years. I have never received anything except outstanding care and attention. The NHS does not have an unlimited budget, this surgery manages within that budget extraordinarily well.

A truly great Surgery. I do not recognise this surgery from the negative reviews. I have always found them efficient , prompt at answering the phone and can not do enough to help. A wonderful service despite difficult times for them. Thank you to all the staff.

As a student, I found this GP extremely exclusive. I don't feel comfortable using this service when I'm suffering from a mediccal condition. First, it took them half a year to register me with their system. Second, once I asked for emergent help from them by showing up at the reception because all the lines are busy, they turned me down with very bad and indifferent altitude and told me I don't have an appointment. The third time I called (as my appointment) for prescribed medicine, they asked me to provide my height and return the information back, which I did. But they NEVER got back to me again. Today I called within working hour only to hear the machinery voice saying "sorry this GP is closed." I understand it could be a busy and hard time for the GP, but it doesn't change the fact I now feel afraid and reluctant to seek for help from the NHS for how I've been treated in this GP. I wouldn't feel comfortable speaking about my concerns or problem with them.
