    Train station is diabolical ... no assistants to help, no disabled access from platform 1 to 2 I had to carry my disabled son who is a wheelchair user down the subway to the other platform and then return for his wheelchair... will not return unless my train is cancelled again..

(Only the museum can be reached on foot.) Of course, since I came all the way to Newmarket, I want to see everything. To do so, the most popular solution is to (1) take a taxi and (2) sign up for a tour. However, my recommendation is to go around by bicycle. Luckily, National Rail in the UK allows bikes to be carried free of charge during non-peak hours. In other words, you can bring your bike and ride it outside of the weekday commuting hours. Cambridge is a city of bikes, so rent a bike here for the day and head to Newmarket. That way, you can go around the production area, the race course, and the museum as you like, and take pictures from any angle you like. Also, in Newmarket, there are things related to horse racing in the city, so you can see detailed monuments of horse racing that you can't see on tours or taxis. For the above reasons, we highly recommend that you use a bicycle. Newmarket station is a style similar to an unmanned station in Japan. There is no ticket gate. Please just go home. There is a ticket vending machine on the platform, so buy it before the train arrives. (Original) ニューマーケットはケンブリッジから電車で20分ほどで行くことが出来る、言わずとしれた競馬の聖地です。 生産地・レースコース(競馬場)・博物館全てがあります。つまり、日本で言えば北海道のような街という事です。土地はものすごく広大で、いざニューマーケットに着いても生産地、レースコース、博物館全てを歩いて回ろうとするのはとても不可能です。(実質徒歩で行けるのは博物館だけです。) 当然、せっかくニューマーケットに来たからには全て見て回りたいです。そのためには、①タクシーで周る②ツアーに申し込むというのが最もポピュラーな解決方法です。 しかし、私のおすすめは自転車で周るという事です。幸い、イギリスのナショナルレールはピーク時間帯以外は自転車の持ち込みは無料です。つまり、平日の通勤時間帯以外であれば自転車を持って乗車できるという事です。ケンブリッジは自転車の街ですから、ここで自転車を1日レンタルしてからニューマーケットに向かえば良いのです。そうすれば生産地もレースコースも博物館も自分の好きなように周り、好きな角度から写真を撮れます。また、ニューマーケットには街中に競馬関連のものが建っているので、ツアーやタクシーでは見られない細かい競馬のモニュメントを見て回ることが出来ます。上記の理由から、ぜひ自転車で回ることをおすすめします。 ニューマーケット駅は日本で言うところの無人駅に近いスタイルです。改札はありません。そのままホームに入ってしまってください。ホームにチケットの販売機があるので、電車が到着するまでに購入しましょう。
