It may well be a great place to study but it's the level of crime that targets students that you must seriously consider. Your property, your lodgings and your cars are all prime targets for the unchallenged criminals that run rife around the university buildings. Do not open your windows when it is hot because it's guaranteed that a desperado will jump in on you. The police are not challenging these people and it will soon reach epidemic proportions. The police are not responding to these incidents in enough time to help anyone. Northumbria university is being grossly let down by Northumbria police, offenders only get caught because the desperate nature of a crack head means it's only a matter of time before that occurs. The choice is yours but here is the reality. I know this from personal experience! The photo is of a car the police may be interested in if they ever have the time.
