  the college gets its 100 percent pass rate by kicking out any students not likely to pass. My grades improved shortly after leaving the college and transfering to another. about twice a week i was ambushed by members of staff who then repeated "that i should change subject and that i didn't have the time to ask my parents about it" despite several polite social ques and me directly saying no. i was also routinly ambushed by a teacher who insisted i shouldn't be in college and that university isnt "the right pathway for me" so much to the point my parents asked me to just not speak to her whatsoever. This teacher sent my parents a series of emails that my parents described as "unhinged and neurotic" the english department lied to both me and my parents about booking an english gcse exam causing my parents to pay extra to book one after the deadline. on the first day of physics class the teacher told us that about 1/3rd of the class drops out. staff are incredibly rude, except for that one physics teacher(graham). graham regularly laments not being able to spend time with his family due to the redicoulouse amount of work the college is giving him. I have seen other students get shouted at, insulted, talked down too and threatened with expulsion from the class for relatively small reasons. cs class is pretty much self taught on a series of "craig and dave" powerpoints (a brand of cs study materials) there are too many students in the building. to the point that many have to eat on the floor , and that some class's are literal tuna cans. one of the humanities teachers is very obviously high on stimulants almost every day. Said humanities teacher(presumably film studies) blew up at a student and threatened him for saying "he didn't watch movies much" (I can't remember what the exact threat was) this was in response too the film studies teacher asking him what movies he liked. (We were at a club at the time)

  i am a previous student of NSFC and what i can say about my experience learning here is that many of my fellow classmates were reduced to tears and brought to discouragement in the sociology department. In the history department we were constantly abandoning topics during class because the staff members were rushing lessons towards the computers to type up articles about non-relevant topics. In the English Language department, we were taught using methods you would expect in a primary school such as play dough and silly games that would only distract us. While in personal development lessons we were only instructed to continue making the reputation of institution look more appealing as the staff only cared about their image. These personal development lessons were meant to be a time for us to learn the fundamentals of obtaining jobs and gaining work experience, this was a waste of time in my case as I left NSFC almost 2 years ago now and I still haven't been able to gain any form of experience working or even in interviews. I have heard from many of my old classmates and friends there were severe issues regarding staff in the Law, Psychology, Chemistry and Physics departments. I was a student in this establishment during the COVID-19 era, this sixth-form college was in no way handling the pandemic with the healthcare of students in mind since there was no enforcement of face masks or any other kind of covering, the lack of social distancing enforcement was criminal as students and staff were catching the virus almost at a daily rate. This establishment isn't a favourable place of education or a safe work environment for the mentally challenged as mental health seemed to be the smallest focus of the staff during such a frightening period in our lives. I hope this review reaches those who need to see if this is the correct choice for their future.

  Giving 1 star because can’t give 0 stars. Do not choose Newcastle sixth form as your first option. Teacher never in, they talk more about their life than the actual spec. Do not take sociology and history. The whole department in those subject are the worse

  If you want to do computer science, please go somewhere else, or you will have to self-teach the entire A-Level spec(unless a good teacher has replaced Alan, unlikely). The teacher left us in the class room asking us to self-teach heavy A-Level contents from power points that could be found online.

  I don’t recommend this sixth form. The teachers keep leaving and left me and my class stranded with supply/ temporary teachers. There was barely any help and most of the teacher definitely have some sort of favouritism to a particular student especially when they’re getting special treatment and extra support.

  I don't recommend this place. Especially if you're gonna do Computer Science, the teacher was literally useless, first 3 months in first year he taught us some stuff but after that he left us in the class room by ourselves, telling us to learn theory from the power point, he left and we had no computer teacher for half of the second year. My second year further maths teacher was literally obsessed with himself talking about how their family has a coat of arm, instead of helping and solving more and more problems for students (we finished the spec early which is good but after that he didn't do anything other than talking about himself). But at the end I want to say thank you to Graham, who is one of the best teachers I have ever had, he is the best in physics, and Katie, she is the best in maths and she knows what she is doing and she cares about her students performance.

  Overall, I had a pretty decent experience going to this sixth form. The staff took extra time to help me reach my goals, and provided support and encouragement along the way. I feel like I learnt more in my 2 years here than I did at my previous sixth form.
