Had my initial appt in November which lasted about an hour an half. Had one booked for dec that I had to cancel due to covid and said I'd get another in the post. I didnt and had to chase this up myself two months later. Last appt 7th march where I was sent to xray as needed them, waited approx an hour and had to leave as I live in Middlesbrough and dont drive. It would be nice if they would accommodate earlier appointments instead of telling me they could only do 3pm/3.30. Still waiting for another appointment now. Looks like I'll be losing this loose tooth eh.

After an awful experience at my dentist when they unsuccessfully tried to extract a tooth and I had to stop them because of the pain, I was terrified when I was referred and attended the hospital for them to finish the job. I need not have worried. The care provided by the Dental Hospital was absolutely wonderful. They provided the sedation I needed and although I suspect the extraction wasn’t completely straight forward, once I came round I was fine. Paracetamol, saltwater rinses and soft food were all I needed for a couple of days. A huge thank you to the wonderful staff who performed the procedure and looked after me! A huge thank you to every single member of staff - and to the top team who have clearly worked hard to make sure there is a culture of care and compassion.

This Dental Teaching Hospital is renowned all over the world as an excellent place to learn to be a fully qualified dentist. The student fees are substantial. Much is demanded of the students. They use members of the public in the teaching live unit. The consultant dentist will give your teeth a thorough going over wearing them expensive eye lenses that look similar, but much smaller than binoculars. Once the consultant has done this. Then the student with also search for problems in your teeth once s/he has finished and often during the student will be taking to the consultant to explain what they see. After this the student and consultant discuss the best way to move on with fixing your teeth. They decide on the course of treatment. And then the treatment starts. You can be called for mornings or afternoons. The treatment is free. However you must endeavour to turn up for your allotted slot. If you don't turn up you can be removed from the free treatment list. I strongly feel that if you have been a accepted then you should endeavour to turn up before your appointment time at least 10mins before. Then wait. One last thing. The treatment you get is 1st class the dental work they do here is of the highest order. The personal care is the highest standard too. I am very grateful to all those in the Dental Teaching Hospital for all that they have done for me. The photos below: the two students here were wearing COVID protection gear and treating me. These were adverse conditions I'm sure you will agree. They treated me with great respect, they understand without humans to learn on and from they can't become good Dentists in the communities around us.

appalling service. No one ever answers the phone. Have wasted so many hours of my life and over £50 just on trying to call them only for them to never answer. A disgrace
