Really good organisation. They house and help struggling young people, most of who have been abandoned by the care system after they turn eighteen, or have had a difficult or traumatic teen life and found coping hard. Emmaus is different in that it provides support and training in their own training area, to give essential life skills and guidance, which enables the young people to cope in their normally unsupported lives. They work closely with the councils and work on a skills gained points system to prepare and help them find housing or accommodation, giving them a fighting chance that they will become independent. Great ethos, fantastic staff and lovely young people. If you're looking for a worthwhile charity to support, I highly recommend you consider Newark Emmaus Trust.
