Have an amazing occupational therapist and an outstanding dietician here who helped me develop some ability to eat again who’s very lovely, but I can’t say the psychiatrists and PD service are very understanding towards autism in women and personality disorders hence the 1 star. They used the fact I missed two psychiatrist appointments due to having Covid at the time and having a procedure due to abnormal test result before my physical symptoms began which doctors have emphasised is mental health. I developed a PD at the age of 25 after a sudden brain change where I started experiencing emotional dysregulation, loss of trust in others, flashbacks, headaches, random physical issues, nightmares and uncharacteristic anger outbursts, sleep problems and memory function issues, I also developed alternating shifts between being creative and depressed and panic attacks. Despite letters from private therapists psychiatrist ignoring my needs, palmed me off to advanced mental health nurse, I then developed loss of ability to eat, acid reflux, stomach issues, bone pain, and repetitive body twitching, despite me saying I wasn’t comfortable in group situations due to my autism they still sent me for group therapy at my most vulnerable. It’s hard to be listened to. I was born with Aspergers so my social issues they seem to be adamant I need to fix when I was born that way and struggled my whole life in social groups. I don’t think they try and understand people. They ended up changing/messing with my life long diagnoses when I was only after the treatment not new diagnoses but wrote in paperwork I just want a diagnosis? That won’t help me. The fabrication and defamation of character has hurt and damaged my self esteem but I hope they improve their services to listen to people more. My brain changed in 2018, all I did was ask support to get it back to normal functioning. Just seems they can’t be bothered. Neither the Psychiatrist or the PD service met me face to face. Diagnosed me over the phone. They avoid seeing me face to face so I struggle to understand the validity in their judgment. Especially when my previous MH team laughed at me when my brain lost capacity and said “we aren’t neurologists you know” luckily my symptoms passed after 6 months but then came back 6 months after. The delay in treatment has caused my body to deteriorate and the effects are now irreversible. At least I can say I tried. It’s like as soon as you get diagnosed with a PD you’re ignored and I don’t think the woman who diagnosed me understands autism and thinks brain changes are all due to how a child was bought up or managed emotions.I was actually bought up well in a household with a good income for the first 10 years of my life. I still had autism though. If that was the case my siblings would have mental health needs to but it’s only my brother and 20 of my cousins diagnosed with autism and my dad. I have to laugh at the contradictions in some of their comments about me. I am publishing my first book on adults on the autistic spectrum so I will be sending them copies for better awareness to be constructive because it’s something that is very misjudged. Unprofessional and biased. Please improve, many thanks 😊

Shocking service . I have had one ten minute phone call from a psychiatrist in 14 months, who never knew anything about me. Been waiting for 2 and a half years for some mickey mouse group. The excuse is always Covid, but they were a shambles before that! New update, got a 8 minute phone call, and was asked if I wanted Psychology, I said yes, then they told me to go and look at a website. Absolute joke of a service!

I really don't know how these people can be put in charge of mental health. All they do is provide excuses to defend a very poor service.
