I've been going to Nethergate medical centre since I moved to Dundee 4yrs ago. I would (and have) recommend here because they've treated me so brilliantly. Especially when I got COVID in the first lockdown and was on my own, they were so supportive. The receptionists are lovely too, especially Jackie. Best surgery.

absolutely awful. i handed in a letter nearly a month ago which my GP has to sign in order for me to progress with my army application. after weeks of phoning and being told "we will send it out at the end of the week" i have now been told i need to pay £25 for it to be sent?? it was not explained to me why they will charge this after i had asked. have heard another applicant being charged £40 so i guess i got off lucky. absolutely awful, wish i could give 0 stars.

Followed instructions given by GP and was chastised for it. Spoke to them regarding side effects from a particular medicine and GP couldn't care less and can't wait to get you off the phone. Find another practice if possible.

Going against the stereotype and beyond, the receptionists at this surgery are very friendly, personable and helpful. Very much appreciated considering the extra strain everyone is under at the moment.

One of the worst experiences I've ever had with a GP practice. Insanely hard to get through to. I've just called 4 times and keep getting cut off. One of the receptionists is incredibly rude, 100% of the time. Shows no empathy or compassion. The first time I registered here and wanted to make an appointment I had a severe UTI to the point I was in so much pain I couldn't move without crying and I was passing blood. I was advised "If it really is an emergency you can go to the hospital or call the emergency afterhours service. Otherwise you can call tomorrow at 8am to make an appointment". I had arrived at about 10am in the morning. As this type of infection is a regular occurrence for me (I've been hospitalised twice in the past) I knew exactly the antibiotics required so waited till the following morning so i could make the appointment. I got another (Much friendlier and helpful) receptionist who then advised, that I absolutely should have been seen by a doctor and they would have made room for me. Too little to late at this point. I received a phone call from the doctor that day then had to take a urine sample the following day and was prescribed a different type of antibiotic to treat the infection (that I already knew I had and told them of) the following day I finished the 3 day course of anitbiotics I called back to say there were absolutely no improvements, in fact it continues to get worse, I tried to book an appointment and AGAIN was told unless it (is what an unqualified receptionist deems) an emergency I'd have to go to the hospital or call the after hours surgery. The pain and stress was unbearable so I went to hospital, they took urine samples and found I was immune to the antibiotics prescribed and ended up prescribing me the antibiotics I originally requested that I know to be tried, tested and works everytime for me. I spent over 10 days of agonising pain, passing blood and at risk of a kidney infection because I was "screened" by an unqualified (and horribly rude and uncompassionate) person. And I wish it got better from there... but it has been the same with every single interaction I've had since. Thankgod I'm going home to Australia with far more compassionate and experienced healthcare care providers. I'd give 0 stars but that would be unfair on the doctors as once the receptionists deem you worthy of an appointment and make a booking for you the Doctors have all been quite lovely. Shame about the "gatekeepers" though....

Awful service! Tried to register. Also needed helpful advice regarding my prescription. Put to tears by a very rude receptionist by insulting me and refusing to direct me to the right services. Won't be registering here. Go elsewhere!!!!
