    I contacted Nelson's to move my furniture from a three storey town house to an 1860's cottage where the access wasn't great, the door openings were narrow and the stairs were steep. I'd been quite stressed about how they'd manage to actually get my furniture into the house. I need not have worried. The two gentlemen who looked after my move were exceptional. They were friendly and courteous, professional and experienced. I can't thank them enough for making everything so much easier than I'd expected. I genuinely couldn't recommend them highly enough.

    I used Nelson's for a couple of relocations within Durham, and most recently for what turned out to be some fairly long term storage followed by a delivery to a new property. After overall excellent service and good experiences, especially with the movers themselves, I had some some issues with the billing that didn't make sense to me. Mr. Nelson came over to my place personally to discuss them and resolved the matter in a very reasonable way, with humour and integrity. I hugely appreciated this unexpected gesture -- the man is a class act through and through and I can highly recommend doing business with his company.

    Great pity - I wanted to use Nelsons for my house move in Durham City, but they failed to provide a quote despite being hastened three times - then rang my wife to ask if they’d sent her a quote - which we still haven’t received three months later. Their admin seems a bit chaotic. Judging by other reviews, they’ll provide you a good service if they remember you want them to provide it. We opted to go with one of their competitors who were more responsive and professional.
