    Arrived with local primary school, as a helper for a school trip. The year 1 students, teachers, TA's and helpers were all greeted by Angela who showed us to the Pavilion to inform us of the rules and regulations of Nature zones. Being disabled this was not the trip I thought it was going to be. I had spoke to the teacher before hand and she advised there wouldn't be much walking but to woman who is also disabled this was hard going. I appreciate there was benches and chairs to sit on, and to Angela, Holly and Emma who were very understanding. The set up for naturezones is awesome, but it isn't disabled friendly.     A wonderful time with the grandchildren bug hunting, pond dipping, following trails. Peaceful back to nature experience, engage with your youngsters technology free, learning together. Thankfully not a playground, but definitely an adventure, topped off with the best of cream teas and giant flapjacks!

    Starting on a positive note... What a beautiful place and some fantastic work going on there. Well done guys. Just a note of constructive criticism.. I do feel it's time you embraced veganism. Animal agriculture is one of the leading causes of climate change. In fact, it's worse for the environment than ALL TRANSPORT COMBINED! (Source - 'Cowspiracy' on Netflix / 'Earthlings' and 'Land of hope and glory' on Youtube - All worth watching if you care about climate change). I notice from the quotes on your website that you care passionately about the environment. I'm sure you'll agree that it's important for your values and actions to align and that we all pull together and do our bit for the planet and those who inhabit it. Like it or not, this includes switching to a plant-based diet. I would now like to explain why I have only given a 1 star review. Although there are many positive points to be made about the reserve, unfortunately they have been overshadowed by the appalling attitude of one member of staff. All I did was offer some polite advice on ways they could reduce their carbon footprint. For some reason Angela took great offence and reacted with hostility and aggression towards me. She was thoroughly rude and dismissive despite the fact that I had the best of intentions and I remained pleasant and polite throughout. I was shocked by her attitude because I assumed that, as an environmentalist, she would be pleased to receive some feedback on how to become more environmentally friendly. We are in the middle of a climate emergency after all! However, she didn't seem to care at all and didn't want to hear anything I had to say. Instead, she attacked my beliefs and attempted to silence me using intimidation (evidence available). For future reference, the professional way to deal with customer feedback is as follows... You thank the customer for their input. You tell them that you value their opinion and that you will consider the points they have raised. You then take the time to research and carefully consider their ideas. If you find that their suggestions lack credibility then you politely thank them for their feedback and explain that you cannot find any room for improvement at this stage. However, if you research their ideas and are faced with overwhelming supporting scientific evidence (as would be the case here) you thank the customer for bringing it to your attention and set about making the necessary changes. I'm not suggesting that you have to agree with everyone but you should listen to them and treat them with respect. You might learn something valuable. It's a sad day indeed when two adults can't have a healthy, civilised discussion in the name of progress without one of them becoming angry and resorting to sarcasm. Sadly, this member of the team has fallen short of these expected standards and let the centre down badly. Ideally I feel it should be run by someone with a caring attitude, open mind and good manners. In my opinion, the decent thing for Angela to do now is apologise to me. If she does and I feel that she is genuinely sorry then I may consider removing this section of the review. I'm not going to let this stop us from coming to the reserve for my birthday in the summer as planned. It's a lovely spot and I don't see why we should miss out because of one person's lack of civility. I'm hoping it will be a more favourable experience though. Will you be able to make us a vegan picnic or should we bring our own? As for the rest of you, keep up the great work! Thanks for taking the time to read my review and I wish you all the best. Ps. I expect you will try to have this review removed as you have with others. However, I have read Google's review policy and I don't believe I'm breaking any of the terms. If I have overlooked something and Google decides to remove it then I will keep writing new reviews both on here and other sites until they are approved. What I will never do is give up. I care too much about the environment, freedom of speech and my right to be heard and treated with respect x

    Love it there. Need to go on a nice day as seating outside. Lovely homemade food. Saw 2 buzzards flying overhead. Several dragonflies as well. Also red admiral butterfly.
