I had a stone crack my windscreen 48 hours before going on holiday. I contacted the repair company that my insurance company recommended (Not National Windscreens) and explained that I would preferably like it mending before my 350 mile journey to Scotland. The contact did try to find a depot who could do this but to no avail. What he was more interested in doing was selling me a pair of Bosch windscreen wipers as my existing ones would most likely get glass in them as they removed the old screen and this could damage the new screen......so clean them. Also for around £20 they could also apply a film t the new screen that helped water run off..... yes to help water run off. Anyway I ditched them and went to my local National Windscreens at Kirk Sandal. A very helpful man checked the screen confirmed it need replacing but said no one would have a Volvo XC70 screen "on the shelf" and no chance of getting it repaired before I went away. He assured me that it was safe to drive and it was, it did the journey in horrendous weather. On return from my holiday I took the car to the depot , and got a call 3 hours later saying the new screen was damaged. Did I want the car back or could I leave it till the following day? I left it with them got a call 9.30 the following day all work done and complete. I called to collect the car, the card machine was not working to pay my excess. However head office rang me there and then and a lady took payment over the phone. Yes a couple of problems along the way but all Excellently handled. Overall a BRILLIANT service. I would never go anywhere else. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Service: Auto windshield replacement
