The staff are so friendly and informative. If time allows they will freely explain the most fascinating history of the house. A very interesting property. Fantastic views across the Sussex Downs from the tea room terrace. Highly recommended

Wonderful place in a fantastic location. Check Website for opening times as the site appears to be closed on Tues/Wed and the House closed on Mondays. The views are Stunning. Great place for a picnic or stroll around the grounds. Family & Dog Friendly (in the Grounds) Nice Cafe with helpful staff and interesting used Book shop where the books are very cheap. The gardens closer to the house are lovely and well kept. One area is currently undergoing restoration that will reinstate the pathway making this area much more accessible for Wheelchair users, Pushchairs and those who prefer a hard surface. The ground floor of the House is accessible for Wheelchairs with a separate route out, avoiding steps to the Servants Quarters. On our visit the card machines were out of order, However this was made clear at the gate, by helpful staff and is still noted on the website 22/5/23. The House was very interesting with knowledgeable stewards to guide you in each space of the Ground Floor and Servants Quarters. Whilst most of the stewards were sympathetic to hidden disabilities and childcare challenges, one steward was making visitors remove rucksacks for the safety of the collection, seemingly unaware that a parent may need both hands to guide children with curious digits, which in our humble view might be more of a risk!

Restrooms: Clean and tidy. Dog-friendliness: There were dogs in the grounds. Picnic area: People were able to eat their own food in thr grounds but there was a lovely cafe serving beautiful cakes and scones.
