On our recent visit the main house was closed for a major refurbishment, and some restrictions in where you could walk in the gardens, so I was shocked when I enquired why the cost of entry was still so high at full price, £11 per person, so I paid £22 for 2 of us to enter, for no access to the house, so although the gardens are lovely, this is too high of a price to walk around some garden, I guess the money does go towards repairs of house though. Picnic area: Nice area to sit near cafe, with views of garden.

Always a pleasure to visit and see how much it has altered since the National Trust took it over. Just the right time of year to see dragonflies emerging too. Lovely, interesting day.

Ample of parking, nice welcoming reception area with cafe, facilities, plant shop and gift shop and picnic area. It's a dog friendly venue. If you want space for the kids to run off energy, this is a perfect place. Parks, woodland secret gardens. Lots of flat paths for push chairs and wheel chairs. They have golf buggies for people with accessibility restrictions so they can enjoy this venue. The big house is being restored so no access at the moment. Sadly no time scale on completion.
