(Translated by Google) Dunster Castle is owned by the National Trust and is in very good condition. The visit is accompanied by a number of volunteers in the individual rooms with a lot of commitment, e.g. with the recipe for Laal Maas, a hell of a hot curry. This was served to guests while the hosts indulged in a moderate curry and grinned.... Worth a visit! Lohnenswerte Besichtigung!

We were tempted to visit by seeing the castle perched on its hillside while driving past. It’s a really interesting record of how a building changes over the centuries, from medieval castle to Jacobean mansion to a Victorian family home. There were volunteers in most of the rooms, and they were without exception friendly and informative. The gardens are also well worth exploring, both around the castle’s mound and along the river to mill. Just a warning - there are a number of steep gradients in getting to the castle and in the garden; well worth it though.

Great place to spend 3 or 4 hours wandering around. The Castle's interesting and gardens are lovely with great views over the whole area. However, there's a fair bit of up and down on the paths around the grounds so be prepared for some healthy exercise.
