Considering it’s age and cultural importance it’s a shame this site isn’t better taken care of. Overgrown, extremely worn and muddy steps, tiny car park. National Trust could do more to improve the site. That said, worth the trip and quite something to stand there and feel the gravitas of the importance of this place.
