I started working for national star and what an amazing camp it is, the camp offers everything, has amazing students and facilities down to swimming pool oT therapy…… I only work here for a very short time… when I was excepted for a position at national star I was so excited and very nervous at the same time, as this was my first time working with special need and challenging behaviours….. I was positioned at manor barn unit which is challenging behaviours…. I was given a student that should of been 2-1 support and I was on my own and my student ran away to the lake, I was given no care plans to read as they couldn’t find them….. staff were so rude and didn’t make me feel welcome, I felt I was to get in with it without knowing the students needs or allergies… when I asked a question a staff member with fuzzing curly hair walked away from me without answering, I felt so uncomfortable….. another staff member snapped at me not changing over students at a certain time but I was not informed on the time of change over, this was only my second day working there…..I would never recommend working here without any experience in working in special needs and challenging behaviours if you have not never done it before as you will be made to assume to know everything without reading care plans…. Maybe the other units to work in are ok, I’m just saying manor barn staff need to learn more manner's and learn how to be welcoming to new staff

If you're from Worcester don't waste your time trying to get your child into this college . The education department will say they can't afford the transport costs, and your child won't go. The College is an amazing place . Yet we have money for wars and gimmegrants but no money for our children.
