Tried to visit this museum at Easter only to find that you now have to book a time slot to visit, and that there are only a small amount of walk in places available and even then you are not guaranteed to get in... I think that this is a poor state of affairs for a National museum that you always used to be able to visit on whim and now you have to book a time slot to visit. I know this is maybe not the place for this but I find it a diabolical liberty that even though they are national museum they are being allowed to close a main road and build across it especially with all the railway land that is lying derelict right next to it. Enjoyable place to spend a few hours looking at the history of Britain's Railways plus some exhibits from the continent
