First time of visiting. Was quite impressed. Lovely cup of tea in the cafe. My great Aunt worked for years at Pyrex so was quite interesting to find out the history. Amazing views across the river/port.

(Translated by Google) There is a parking lot outside the museum, which costs 60p per hour. The museum is divided into two floors. The main exhibition hall introduces the development of the Sintland glass industry, and the other exhibition hall will update the exhibits from time to time. There is a glass manufacturing demonstration on the lower floor. It is recommended to pay attention to the timetable in advance. In addition, there are also restaurants that provide drinks and cakes, etc.

A bus load of us visited here today and we have had a wonderful day. The cafe was a pleasant place to have a light lunch and exceptionally reasonably priced. There was something for everyone in the shop and the star attraction, the glass blowing exhibition was fun and informative. A great day out.👍👍👍

A wonderful hidden gem in the north east. It’s a pity they’re planning to close down/ move elsewhere. It’s within walking distance from the Metro and it’s free to enter. There are nice glass making demonstrations regularly throughout the day and you can also get your hands on some of the glass works from the local artists. Highly recommend a visit to this place when visiting Sunderland or Newcastle.
